Description

Ideally you should be able to top rope french 6a, and looking to do your first indoor leading attempt.

If you need a refresher you are welcome to join, but we need to give priority to people who have never lead first.

If I have a big enough group, it is best that I reserve routes in the castle. They ask me for £50.00 for this honour. If I have to book routes for the course, I will have to split the cost between the participants, but it will be shared between 4 to 9 people, so it shouldn’t be too much.

The course will be looking at

    – climbing technique for leading

    – the safety

    – reactive and dynamic belaying

    – clipping and un-clipping a rope to a quickdraw

    – what happens if you fall.

The approach aims to gradually increase your confidence, until you and I both feel that you are ready to lead. You might be able to lead during the first lesson, or it might take a few more sessions.
